Ravens host Bentley on Friday

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (October 10, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University men's tennis team was defeated on Saturday, 9-0, on the road at Adelphi in Northeast-10 Conference play.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 0-3 (0-2 Northeast-10), while Adelphi improves to 2-0 (2-0 Northeast-10).

Franklin Pierce's strongest efforts on Saturday came from its top two singles players, in freshmen James Bisazza (West Barnstable, Mass.) and Marcus Lawrence (Acton, Mass.), respectively. At first singles, Bisazza took five games from Adelphi freshman Matteo Cannavera, but dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision. At second singles, Lawrence held tight in the second set, but ultimately ceded a 6-1, 6-4 victory to junior Uladzislau Litvinchuk.

Ultimately, all six Adelphi players won in both singles and doubles play on Saturday, led by Cannavera, who won at both first singles and first doubles. Prior to his win at first singles, he had teamed with Litvinchuk for an 8-2 win over Bisazza and Lawrence at first doubles.

The Ravens return to the court on Friday, Oct. 16, when they return home to host Bentley in a Northeast-10 Conference match at 2 p.m. in Rindge.
