Mens Tennis Falls At Colby-Sawyer, 8-1
Brewer posts singles win

NEW LONDON, N.H. (October 11, 2008)
– The Franklin Pierce University men’s tennis team was
defeated on the road, 8-1, by Colby-Sawyer on Saturday afternoon in
non-conference play.
Freshman Benjamin Brewer
(Brattleboro, Vt./Brattleboro Union) picked up the lone
point of the day for the Ravens. He defeated senior Ben Taylor
(Derry, N.H./Pinkerton Academy) of Colby-Sawyer, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 in
second singles.
In first doubles, Brewer and senior Helder Noguiera (Dourados,
Brazil) held their own before falling 8-6 against Taylor and
freshman Joby Bacher (Uniontown, Ohio/West Lafayette) of
Colby-Sawyer.
Bacher, along with Evan Campbell (White River Junction,
Vt./Hartford), Chris Lavoie (Gorham, Maine/Chevertus) and Jamie
Thormann (Northeast Harbor, Maine/Mount Desert Island), were all
victorious in both singles and doubles for Colby-Sawyer.
The Ravens have concluded their fall schedule with an 0-4 record,
including 0-3 in the Northeast-10. Colby-Sawyer has concluded its
fall schedule at 1-1.
