Assumption Handles Franklin Pierce, 8-1
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (April 5, 2002) - The Franklin Pierce men's tennis team fell to Assumption College in non-conference action at the Bloomsburg Duels in Bloomsburg, Pa. this afternoon.
Assumption's Sean Kenney and Ryan Richert both won their singles matches in two sets and then went on to team up for an 8-1 win at #1 doubles to pace the Greyhounds.
Junior Art Shannon (Danvers, Mass./Danvers) recorded Franklin Pierce's lone point, as he defeated David Jervasi 6-4, 6-3 at #5 singles.
Franklin Pierce (7-7, 3-2 NE-10) will face Bloomsburg in non-conference action on day two of the Bloomsburg Duels tomorrow at 8 a.m. The team will then face Concordia in match two of the doubleheader at 1 p.m.
