Franklin Pierce Plucks River Hawks, 8-1
LOWELL, Mass. (April 18, 2001) - The Franklin Pierce men's tennis team posted an 8-1 victory at UMass Lowell in Northeast-10 Conference action this afternoon.
Junior Tim Simmons (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington), sophomores Michael Hoffner (Wantaugh, N.Y./Wantaugh), Art Shannon (Danvers, Mass./Danvers) and Ricky Sanford (Bridgeport, Conn./Bunnell) and freshman Darko Minic (Belgrade, Yugoslavia) all recorded singles victories, while the Ravens swept all three doubles matches.
Franklin Pierce (12-8, 7-3 NE-10) returns to action on Thursday, when its hosts Bentley College for its regular season finale at 3 p.m.
