SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 10, 2001) - The Franklin Pierce men's tennis team snapped a three-match skid with an 8-1 victory at American International College in Northeast-10 Conference action this afternoon.
Senior Tom
Hennessey (Manchester, N.H./Tilton Academy),
sophomores Michael Hoffner (Wantaugh,
N.Y./Wantaugh) and Ricky Sanford
(Bridgeport, Conn./Bunnell) and freshman
Darko Minic (Belgrade, Yugoslavia) each
posted wins without dropping a single game, while Franklin Pierce's
three doubles pairings all posted 8-0 victories.
AIC's lone point came at No. 1 singles as Brazilian Cesar Juca recorded a 6-3, 6-1 victory over senior Brian Kuscher (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack).
Franklin Pierce (9-7, 4-2 NE-10) returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Colchester, Vt., for a dual match with Saint Michael's College at 3 p.m.
