RINDGE, N.H (10/13/2023) -- The Franklin Pierce men's soccer team has reached double-digit wins under first-year coach Travis Brent as they took care of business this afternoon at Sodexo Field against American International College, winning 3-1.

Franklin Pierce improves to 10-0-0 (6-0-0 NE-10) on the season. AIC falls to 2-4-6 (2-2-1 NE-10) with the loss.

The Ravens scored the game's first goal less than six minutes into the match. AIC tried to reset in their zone, but graduate forward Aaron Sanchez (A Coruna, Spain) won a foot race with freshman defender Guilherme Afonso. Next, he made a move on senior goalkeeper Lucas Morales-Fernandez and kicked the ball into the wide-open net for his second goal of the season.

In the 12th minute, AIC had a chance to tie the game. Graduate midfielder Gabriele Valerio worked his way into the box and shot the ball low, forcing sophomore goalkeeper Diego Montoya Casillas (Cuernavaca, Mexico) to make a diving save.

It took until the 30th minute for the Yellow Jackets to get on the board off of a corner kick opportunity. AIC freshman midfielder Esben Guldager sent the ball into the box, and graduate defender Hallvard Boehn hit a header by the diving Casillas. For Boehn, the goal marked a first as a member of the Yellow Jackets squad.

The first half closed out with a 1-1 score.

Less than two minutes into the second half, Franklin Pierce regained the lead on graduate midfielder Jeronimo Ferrando Ferri's (Valencia, Spain) fourth goal of the season on a free-kick opportunity. AIC keeper Lucas Morales-Fernandez didn't move in the goal crease as Ferri kicked the ball into the bottom left corner of the net giving the Raven's a 2-1 lead.

In the 71st minute, graduate forward and Division II men's soccer goal scoring leader Younes Addar Khanoussi (Castellon, Spain) extended the teams lead to 3-1. After a free kick from the opposite side of the field, FPU's Aaron Sanchez hit a header cross to Addar who was parked just above the goalie crease. Addar hit a low right footer that was stopped by a Yellow Jacket defender, but the defensive save rebounded right back to Addar who hammered the redemption shot into the net.

The Ravens outshot the Yellow Jackets 12-5. Casillas made three saves and picked up his sixth win of the season. Fernandez made four saves in the loss.

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: Franklin Pierce remains at Sodexo Field as they take on Felician University for an out-of-conference match on Tuesday, October 17, at 4 p.m.
