Two Ravens Earn Northeast-10 Player of the Week Awards

MANSFIELD, MASS. (10/2/2023)— The Northeast-10 Conference released its player of the week honors for week five, and two Franklin Pierce University Ravens received recognition.

Men's Soccer:
Graduate Student Aitor Cuenca Retuerto (Bilbao, Spain) received the Defensive Player of the Week award for men's soccer. In the last week Cuenca boasted high level play on the defensive and offensive side of the ball. In the team's 5-2 victory over Bentley, Cuenca chipped in a goal. Then in the Raven's 3-0 shutout victory over New Haven, Cuenca tallied a goal and an assist.

Field Hockey:
Freshman goalkeeper Zoe Noorlag (Amersfoot, Netherlands) earned goalkeeper of the week after she led the Ravens to a 2-1 victory over the no. 4 nationally ranked Saint Anselm Hawks last week. In net, Noorlag was dancing on her head recording 14 saves and racked up a .933 save percentage. She totaled 24 saves on the week and leads the NE10 with 84 saves on the season.

Men's Soccer:

Younes Addar Khanoussi (Gr., F - Castellon, Spain)
Younes had a four-goal week, including a hat trick against Bentley that helped elevate the Ravens offensive firepower.  He also had the game-winning goal vs Bentley.  Younes now has 13 goals in 2023.

Diego Montoya Casillas, Franklin Pierce (So., GK - Cuernavaca, Mexico)
Diego played all 180 minutes in two games last week, allowing two goals in a pair of wins.  FPU is now 8-0-0 on the season and 5-0 in conference.  He registered three saves, including a pair in the shutout win of New Haven.

Women's Soccer:

 
Mollie Cahalane, Franklin Pierce (So., F - Merrimac, Mass.)
Cahalane tallied two goals in the team's 4-0 victory over SCSU.
