RINDGE, N.H.  (December 19, 2019) – The previously no. 18 nationally-ranked Franklin Pierce University men's soccer team has climbed to seventh in the final edition of the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II National Rankings it was announced Tuesday afternoon by the organization.

The no. 7 ranked Ravens (15-4-2, 10-2-0 Northeast-10) were first ranked during the eighth edition of the poll on October 29th moving from unranked to no. 22 in the country. They then moved up four spots to no. 18 after blasting previously no. 2 ranked Adelphi University 4-1.

Pierce remained at no. 18 through their run in the NE10 Championship and the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament. In postseason play, FPU went 3-1-1 with the tie coming in the Northeast-10 Conference Semifinal to Saint Rose ending their bid to be conference champions in a penalty kick shootout.

FPU earned an at large bid, a First Round bye, and a home game. in the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Tournament. They dispatched previously no. 8 ranked Wilmington (Del.) 1-0 in the Super Region 1 – Second Round. Pierce advanced to the Third Round and upended Post University 2-1 in double-overtime off a PK game-winner with 30 seconds left. However, they lost to the eventual national champions, Charleston (W. Va.) 2-0 in the Super Region 1 – Quarterfinal or regional championship game (Elite 8).

The Ravens held a remarkable 10-0-1 record on their home pitch, Sodexo Field and are the highest-ranked Northeast-10 Conference program with Adelphi coming in at no. 17. 2019 NE10 champion Assumption College earned votes in the final poll.
