Ravens Men’s Soccer Ranked Nationally For Second Straight Week

RINDGE, N.H. (September 26, 2017) – The Franklin Pierce University men's soccer program improved three places in the United Soccer Coaches 2017 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Week Four National Poll it was announced Tuesday afternoon.

The rankings were posted by the United Soccer Coaches on their official website.

Last week marked the first time this season that the Ravens were ranked as they came in at 24 in the Week Three Poll. A 1-0-1 showing last week vaulted the Crimson and Grey up three spots to 21 in the national rankings and they remained fourth in the East Region rankings.

The same two other Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer programs were ranked by the USC. Adelphi University stayed at three with a 6-0-1 overall mark and Southern New Hampshire University jumped two spots to 12th in the nation with a 6-0-1 record. The Ravens will travel to Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, October 14th at 7:00 p.m. while FPU will host Adelphi at home on Saturday, October 21st with gametime set for 4:00 p.m.

As a team, the Ravens lead the NE10 in goals-against average (0.32), rank second in total shutouts (4) and third in shots per game (15.3). The goals-against mark is the sixth best mark in all of NCAA Division II. Goalkeeper Jadel Poon-Lewis (Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago) is one of the top goaltenders in the league as he ranks atop the NE10 leaderboard in save percentage (.926), goals against (2) and goals-against average (0.32). His .926 save percentage is the third best mark of all Division II goalies and his goals-against average ranks within the top-10 in the nation as well.

The no. 21 ranked Ravens square off versus Saint Anselm today at 4:00 p.m.
