YELLOW JACKETS STING RAVENS IN DOUBLE OT

RINDGE, N.H. (September 21, 2016) – The Franklin Pierce University men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 double overtime defeat to Northeast-10 Conference foe American International College Wednesday evening at Sodexo Field. The loss, the Ravens first of the campaign drops them to 4-1, 2-1 NE-10 and the Yellow Jackets move above .500 to 4-3, 2-1 NE-10.

The game was thirty seconds away from conclusion before Yellow Jacket Juan Correa sent a cross from the left side to teammate Jake Durham who punched in a close shot to give AIC a shocking come from behind double-overtime victory.

Freshman midfielder Noam Kolakofsky (Liman, Israel) headed home his first collegiate marker from teammate Casey Schehl (Bedford, N.H.) in the 26th minute of play.

AIC knotted the game at one all during the 79th minute as Lasse Olrik followed a blocked shot and blasted a hard attempt from 10 yards out high into the cage.

In the first overtime period the Ravens had a golden opportunity to walk out of Sodexo Field victorious, but Charlie Madden's (Newton Abbot, United Kingdom) free kick attempt hit the left post, bounced around and was cleared by a Yellow Jacket defender thwarting the scoring chance.

The Yellow Jackets outshot the Ravens 16-11 in the physical affair that saw a combined 25 fouls and three yellow cards.

Jadel Poon-Lewis (Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago) suffered his first loss of the season as he stopped six shots in the setback and fell to 4-1 on the year. Sebastian Tamayo improved to 2-2 making three saves in the win for AIC

The Ravens return to Sodexo Field on Saturday versus fellow NE-10 school Southern Connecticut State with gametime slated for 7:00 p.m.
