RINDGE, N.H. (November 16, 2010) -- The No. 1-nationally
ranked Franklin Pierce University men's soccer team will play host
to Dowling on Saturday night in the NCAA Division II Quarterfinals.
The kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Sodexo Field, as the winner will
advance to the Final Four in Louisville, Ky. on Dec. 2.
Tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for students and seniors, and $2 for
children 2-12 years old. Children under two years of age are

Franklin Pierce (17-1-2) advanced to the quarterfinals via a
penalty kick shootout victory over Southern New Hampshire (4-1)
last weekend as the team's played to a 1-1 draw following 110:00 of
play.
Junior forward Victor Goncalves (Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil), who on Tuesday was named the Northeast-10 Player
of the Week, scored the Ravens' lone goal in regulation and added a
penalty kick goal in the shootout to help spark the victory.
Junior midfielder Paul Latif (Newcastle, England),
junior back Tom Reilly (Wallasey, England) and
junior midfielder Diego Tabares (Seekonk, Mass.)
each scored a penalty kick goal during the shootout. Junior
goalkeeper Vinny Papageorgiou (Wilmington, Mass.),
who made six saves in regulation and the two overtimes, stopped a
pair of shots in the shootout to make those four extra tallies
stand up.
Franklin Pierce and Dowling are meeting for the second time this
season with the Lions picking up a 1-0 overtime win back on Sept. 7
in Brookhaven, N.Y. Since that setback, Franklin Pierce is unbeaten
in 17-straight matches, including going 15-0-2 during that
stretch.
A Franklin Pierce win on Saturday would send the Ravens to the
Division II Final Four in Louisville, Ky., as it would be their
first trip to the national semifinals since the 2007 season when
they went all the way in winning the national championship.
