Former Men's Soccer Standout Frantz Francois Scores in Professional Debut
Francois is playing for River Plate Puerto Rico
RINDGE, N.H. (April 1, 2011) -- Former Franklin Pierce
University men's soccer standout Frantz Francois
scored a goal for River Plate Puerto Rico in his professional debut
back on March 18 in George Town, Cayman Islands. The goal was part
of River Plate's 2-0 win over Cayman Islands' Bodden Town.
With River Plate leading 1-0 in the second half, Francois buried a
strike in the back of the goal to double his team's advantage and
lift them to victory.
Francois' team is currently competing for a spot in the 2011-12
CONCACAF Champions League, which is one of the top professional
soccer leagues in the world.
Francois played for Franklin Pierce from 2007-09 and assisted on the match-winning goal in the team's 2007 NCAA Division II National Championship game victory. He was named an All-American by several organizations during his senior season of 2009.
