WALTHAM, Mass. --- First-half goals by sophomores Richard Gordon (Lenzie, Scotland) and Chris Schwarz (Babenhausen, Germany) propelled 13th-ranked (Division II) Franklin Pierce to a 2-1 win over host Bentley College in Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer Wednesday night.

The Ravens improved to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference while Bentley, whose modest two-game win streak was snapped, dipped back to .500, 4-4 overall and 3-3 NE-10.

Senior Robert Scholz (Schenectady, N.Y.) earned the victory in goal for the Ravens, making four saves. Matt Parsons (Exeter, N.H./Exeter HS), the reigning NE-10 Freshman of the Week, had five stops for Bentley.

Bentley travels to Albany, N.Y. on Saturday to meet another one of the NE-10's expansion teams, the College of Saint Rose, in a 1 p.m. contest.
