Men's Lacrosse Standout Eddie Noonan Named to 2012 NEILA Division II First-Team

Noonan became the 10th player in program history to log 30-or-more points in a single season

RINDGE, N.H. (May 16, 2012) -- Franklin Pierce University sophomore standout Eddie Noonan (Foxboro, Mass.) on Wednesday was named to the 2012 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division II All-New England First-Team as a midfielder.

It marked the second-straight year Noonan was honored by NEILA as he was named the 2011 Division II rookie of the year and garnered a spot on the All-New England second-team.

Noonan had a terrific sophomore season in 2012 as he pumped in a team-high 31 points, including a team-best 21 goals and 10 assists. He logged multiple points in all but three games, including a season-high four points in a trio of contests. Noonan concluded the campaign with a four-point afternoon (2 g, 2 a) in a 10-9 triumph over Pace on April 28, and in the process, became just the 10th player in program history to log 30-or-more points in a single season.

Noonan ranked among the top 20 in several categories in the Northeast-10 Conference this season including points (19th), goals (15th) and shots on goal (19th, 40). He also ranked 21st in assists.

Noonan's sophomore season came on the heels of an outstanding rookie campaign in 2011, which saw him gain the NE-10 Freshman-of-the-Year award in addition to his accolades from NEILA.

Noonan served as one of Franklin Pierce's three captains this year and played a major role in the program producing the finest season in program history in 2012. The Ravens produced a 7-6 record, marking the program's first winning season. Franklin Pierce's seven overall wins and five conference victories each marked the highest total for a single season. The Ravens finished in a tie for fifth place in the NE-10, which was an impressive accomplishment considering the league's preseason poll predicted them to place 10th.
