#6 Bryant Tops Franklin Pierce, 20-4

RINDGE, N.H. (May 1, 2004) - The Franklin Pierce men's lacrosse team fell 20-4 to Bryant, ranked No. 6 in the most recent USILA Division II poll, this afternoon at the Franklin Pierce Athletic Field.

Junior Jason Easteadt (New Hyde Park, N.Y./Nassau C.C.) was the leading scorer for the Bulldogs with six goals and an assist for seven points. Senior Chris Piscotta (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park) followed with two goals and two assists, while John Papayani (Great River, N.Y./East Islip), Bryan Molk (Peabody, Mass./Peabody), Steve Coppinger (Bethesda, Md./Brighton Academy) and Andrew Serge (Albany, N.Y./Colonial Central) added three points each.

Junior Nick Mincolla (Cohasset, Mass./Gov. Dummer Academy) led the Ravens with two goals. Seniors Jimmy Ward (Lynn, Mass./Lynn Classical) and Kevin Medeiros (Chelmsford, Mass.Chelmsford) both notched goals and freshman Mike Willis (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) dished an assist.  

Freshman Matt Cloutier (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan) posted 17 saves in net for Franklin Pierce, while Matt Lovejoy (Thorton, Pa./West Chester University), Craig Phillips (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) and Tieg Bean (Hanover, Mass./Hanover) combined for four saves for the Bulldogs.

Bryant jumped out to an 8-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. The Ravens notched a goal in both the second and third quarters and two in the fourth.

Franklin Pierce ends the 2004 season with 3-12, 1-9 in the Northeast-10 and Bryant (11-4, 9-1 NE-10) will return to action on Friday in the first round of the Northeast-10 tournament.
