Saint Michael's Blanks Franklin Pierce, 24-0

COLCHESTER, Vt. (April 11, 2002) - The Franklin Pierce men's lacrosse team fell to Saint Michael's College, 24-0, in Northeast-10 Conference action at Doc Jacobs field this afternoon. Saint Michael's dominated from the start of the game, scoring nine straight goals in the first stanza. The Purple Knights continued to extend their lead in the second quarter to take the 17-goal advantage by the break.

Saint Michael's senior Jonathan Curley led the offense with two goals and dished six assists in the win.

Franklin Pierce'sAndy Cote (Middleton, Mass./Masconomet) made 21 saves in net, while Saint Michael's netminder Brian Hingston recorded his first career shutout with two saves.

Franklin Pierce (0-7, 0-5 NE-10) returns to action on Saturday, when it faces Bryant College in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup at Winchendon School in Winchendon, Mass. at 1 p.m. Saint Michael's (4-2, 3-1 NE-10) next travels to Southern New Hampshire University for a League matchup at 1 p.m.
