Merrimack Hands Franklin Pierce 17-3 Loss

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. (April 6, 2002) - The Franklin Pierce men's lacrosse team suffered its third straight League loss, falling to Merrimack College, 17-3, in Northeast-10 Conference action this evening.

Merrimack's Matt O'Neil led the Warriors with four goals and two assists. Tom DeCourcy also recorded four goals, while Tim Murphy, Paul Piepiora and Brad Iuculano each added two goals and an assist.

Franklin Pierce's Jake Holmes (Freeport, Maine/Freeport) totaled two of Franklin Pierce's goals, while Frank Parker (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton Academy) added one.Ken Beaudette (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) dished one assist for the Ravens.

Franklin Pierce netminder Andy Cote (Middleton, Mass./Masconomet) recorded 24 saves in 60:00 minutes in net.

Franklin Pierce (0-4, 0-3 NE-10) returns to action on Tuesday, April 9, when it faces Assumption College in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup at 3:30 p.m. Merrimack (4-3, 3-2 NE-10) will next host LIU-Southampton on Sunday in a non-conference matchup at 1 p.m.
