Franklin Pierce Falls to Green Mountain, 27-13

POULTNEY, Vt. (April 2, 2002) - The Franklin Pierce men's lacrosse team dropped its third straight contest, falling to Green Mountain College in non-conference action this afternoon.

Franklin Pierce jumped out to an excellent start, scoring seven goals to keep pace with Green Mountain. The Eagles then took a five goal advantage heading into the break to make the score Green Mountain 14, Franklin Pierce 9.

The Ravens struggled in the third, as the Eagles went on to net four straight goals in a 90 second span with five minutes left in regulation. The Eagles tacked on five more markers in the fourth quarter to make the final, Green Mountain 27, Franklin Pierce 13.

Franklin Pierce's Andy McEntee (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset) led the Ravens offense with three goals and two assists, while sophomore Jake Holmes (Freeport, Maine/Freeport) tallied three goals and chipped in one assist. Senior Ken Beaudette (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) and sophomores Jimmy Ward (Lynn, Mass./Lynn Classical) and Kevin Medeiros (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) recorded two goals apiece.

Franklin Pierce netminder Andy Cote (Middleton, Mass./Masconomet) made 26 saves in 60:00 of work, while Green Mountain goalkeeper, Michael O'Hara made 22 stops in 60:00 minutes in net.
