Men's Ice Hockey: Ravens Earn Split Against Saint Michael's, 6-3

Burlington, VT. (11/11/2023) -- In their weekend finale against the Purple Knights the Ravens skated to a 6-3 defeat to earn a split. Austin Pick notched two markers and Matt Horan added another one to provide the final goal scoring amount for the Ravens. The team added goals in all three periods, and put 14 shots on net in the second, a game high for either side.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Brennan McFarland scored at the halfway mark of the first period to open up scoring.0-1

  • Matt Horan scored a quick goal 94 seconds later to tie the game up. 1-1

  • TJ Beaver added a goal late in the first to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission

  • Case Kantgias scored two goals in the second period. 1-3,1-4

  • Austin Pick would add a goal on the power play to make it 2-4 
  • David ciancio and Brennan McFarland would each add 1 to take a comanding lead halfway though the thrid period. 2-6
  • Austin Pick nets his fifth goal of the season to make it 3-6 at the end of the game. 

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS: 

  • In net Brogen McDonald earned the loss with 10 saves, and Maxymillian Banoun added 10 saves in relief in his collegiate debut.

  • Both goalies faced five power plays combined, as the Purple Knights put home two power play goals on the night, good for a .400 clip on the evening.

  • Austin Pick had two goals.
