NASHUA, N.H. (November 18, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University men's ice hockey team bookended the first period with goals at Conway Arena on Wednesday night, building a 2-0 lead en route to a 3-1 road win over Daniel Webster in non-conference play. The victory was the first for the Ravens under head coach Bruce Marshall.

With the win, Franklin Pierce improves to 1-5-0, while Daniel Webster falls to 3-3-0.

Franklin Pierce needed less than a minute to get the scoring started on Wednesday, as it struck just 51 seconds into the proceedings. Senior forward Matt Batis (Lakewood, N.Y.) put home his first of the season, off of assists from sophomore forward Jonathan Haun (Buffalo, N.Y.) and junior forward Connor Mauro (Shrewsbury, Mass.).

The Ravens would push the lead to 2-0 with a goal in the final minute of the first stanza. Franklin Pierce went 1-for-8 on the power play on the day, but the one goal would stand as the game-winning goal, at the 19:27 mark. Senior forward Brendan Glynn (Quincy, Mass.) notched his first of the season, while sophomore forward Brad Riccardi (Scarsdale, N.Y.) picked up the lone assist.

Riccardi picked up a goal of his own, his second goal of the campaign, early in the second period to push the lead as high as 3-0. Freshman forward Travis Geraci (Old Bridge, N.J.) and freshman defenseman Blaise Kilroy (Spring City, Pa.) had the helpers at the 3:01 mark.

Daniel Webster's only goal of the night came later in the second period to create the 3-1 final. Sophomore forward Zach Paisley struck for his second of the season at 15:10, with freshman forward Clay Plyler dishing out the lone assist.

Senior goaltender Kyle Moran (Marshfield, Mass.) stopped 30 of 31 shots on goal to pick up the win in net (1-2-0) for Franklin Pierce. At the other end of the ice, sophomore Anthony D'Urso (0-1-0) stopped 36 of 39 shots in the crease for Daniel Webster.
