Men's Golf: Ravens Finish 9th at Eagle Invitational
WATERTOWN, CONN. (10/10/2023) – The Franklin Pierce University men's golf program competed in the Eagles Invitational hosted by Post University on Monday and Tuesday, earning 9th place out of 13 teams.
After three rounds and 36 holes at Watertown Golf Club, the team finished up with a combined score of 901(+49). Indiana University of Pennsylvania won the tournament after shooting a combined 857(+5) which was eight strokes ahead of the runner up Chargers of Dominican University (New York).
Sophomore golfer Seth Saffell (Castro,Calif.) led the Ravens and finished in 11th place after shooting a 74-72-73—219 (+6). Right behind Saffell was junior Peter Wurszt (Wilbraham, Mass.) who shot a 74-71-75—220 (+7). The last Raven to make the top 50 was senior Thomas Hickey (Moultonborough, N.H.) who after a rocky first day clawed his way 14 places up the leaderboard and finished in 42nd after shooting a 82-75-73—230(+17).
