Men's Golf Plays-Out 2022-23 Season With 13th Place Finish at NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Championship

LEBANON, Pa. (5/13/23) – The Franklin Pierce men's golf program finished 13th overall at this past week's NCAA DII Atlantic/East Regional Championships at the Par-72 Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

In the final round, the Ravens shot their lowest score and improved two positions in the team leaderboards after carding a 925 (317-305-303) across the three-day span.

In his first trip to the NCAA Regional stage, freshman Seth Saffell (Castro Valley, Calif.) led the way for the Ravens with a tied-for-33rd finish and a three-round score of 228 (78-77-73). To open round one, Saffell made par on the first six holes, and then shot a total of five birdies in round three to finish with his top score. Junior Thomas Hickey (Moultonborough, N.H.) shot a 231 (82-73-76) card as part of a six-way tie for 45th individually.

Freshman Riley Richards (East Montpelier, Vt.) also shot his best round on the final day of the tournament, scoring a 75 (+10) for a final card of 231 (82-73-76). Senior Michael Sosik (Fiskdale, Mass.) finished tied-for-74th overall after shooting 237 (77-78-82), while Peter Wurszt (Wilbraham, Mass.) completed the list of Raven  competitors with a tie for 78th place off an overall score of 238 (82-77-79).

The NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Tournament marks the official end of the 2022-23 season for Franklin Pierce men's golf, who finished the year with two tournament victories as a team.
