SYRACUSE, N.Y. (October 15, 2021) -- Following a disappointing showing at the Eagles Invitational Monday and Tuesday, the Franklin Pierce University men's golf team shuffled its lineup for the Le Moyne Fall Invitational, which began with first-round play on Friday at the par-71, 6498-yard Bellevue Country Club. Featuring an entirely different five-player cast than earlier in the week, the Ravens turned in an opening 322 (+38) and are tied for 11th, in a 16-team field, at the tournament's midway point.

Franklin Pierce was led by a pair of Friday 78s (+7), from junior Jack Hogan (Westfield, Mass.) and freshman Jack Paterson (Franklin, Mass.), who are both part of an eight-way logjam in 35th place, just inside the top half of the 88-player field. Freshman Brady Hathorn (Wilder, Vt.) and sophomore Bailey Watts (Hudson, Mass.) followed at 83 (+12), as part of a five-way tie for 67th. Freshman Jake LaMonica (Quincy, Mass.) rounded out Franklin Pierce's five-player lineup at 89 (+18), and is tied-83rd with one round to play.

At the top of the team leaderboard, Assumption put together an opening-round 296 (+12) and holds a three-shot lead after the first round. The Greyhounds are trailed by Post and host Le Moyne, both of which turned in Friday 299s (+15).

Individually, SNHU sophomore AJ Cavotta had the low round of the day, with a one-under-par 70, to open up a two-shot lead. Assumption freshman Jack Moy and Le Moyne sophomore Tyler Birdd are tied-second at 72 (+1), while three players are tied for fourth at 73 (+2).

The Le Moyne Fall Invitational will wrap up with the second and final round on Saturday at Bellevue Country Club.
