Sosik, Donohue Earn All-Championship Team Honors, Ravens Place Second at NE10 Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 20, 2021) – The no. 3 regionally-ranked Franklin Pierce University men's golf team earned their highest finish in program history at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship finishing tied for second Tuesday.

The Championship was hosted at the Springfield Country Club off the black tees a par 72 6,531 yard course. Pierce was in the lead following the first round holding a one-stroke lead (306, +18) over eventual champion Le Moyne College, but the Dolphins ran through the course in the second round shooting a 300 (+12) en route to a 607 (+31). FPU tied with Assumption University at 618 (+42) as the Greyhounds took 14 strokes off their round one total.

As a team, the Ravens paced the field in total birdies (21), they were also second in par 4 scoring (4.27, +27).

Making his first appearance in the conference championship, sophomore Michael Sosik (Fiskdale, Mass) led the Ravens producing a two-round 148 (+4) for a second-place finish. Sosik shot a team-low score of 73 (+1) on his first go through the course. Graduate student Liam Donohue (Vernon, Conn) was a consistent 76 (+4) in both rounds for a 152 (+8) for a share of fifth place. Both Sosik and Donohue made the All-Championship Team and had seven birdies apiece.

Senior Dylan Plis (Camillus, N.Y.) and graduate student Sam Myers (Colchester, Vt.) who played two rounds with an injury had 160 (+16) showings. Myers dropped four strokes from his round one total making him the Ravens most improved golfer. Freshman Thomas Hickey (Moultonborough, N.H.) rounded out the scoring at 166 (+22).
