SOMERSWORTH, N.H. (April 9, 2021) – Graduate students Dylan Plis (Camillus, N.Y.) and Sam Myers (Colchester, Vt.) place tied for second and fifth respectively as the Franklin Pierce University men's golf team finished third at the Saint Anselm Spring Invitational Friday.

Plis earned his best finish of the year firing a first-round 76 (+5) before having a fine even scorecard in the second round (147, +5). He was second in the field in pars with 26. Myers lost two strokes from his showing the second time through the course finishing at 147 (+5) with five birdies, the second-highest total in the field at The Oaks Golf Links

As a team, the Crimson and Gray totaled a 616 (+48) over the 36 holes for third place. They improved their score by two trailing runner-up Bentley University by four (612, +44) and tournament champion Assumption College (603, +35).

Freshman Thomas Hickey (Moultonborough, N.H.) poured in a 157 (+15) for a share of 14th place. Sophomore Michael Sosik (Fiskdale, Mass.) racked up a two-round 164 (+22) and junior Conner MacDonald (Kennebunkport, Maine) rounded out the team scoring subtracting one stroke in his second round to finish at 167 (+25).

Sophomore Jack Hogan (Westfield, Mass.) took part as an individual, improved his score by four strokes, and tallied a 164 (+22) showing.

The men's squad will hit the links in their final tune-up before the Northeast-10 Championship at the Blackstone National Golf Club in Sutton, Mass.
