BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. (March 18, 2019) – The Franklin Pierce University men's golf program headed south for the opening round of the North Greenville University Men's Invitational at the Columbia Country Club Monday.

The long layoff did not seem to affect the Crimson and Grey as they currently stand in second place at 300 (+12). They trail the host Crusaders (297 +9) by three strokes and hold a minuscule one-shot edge over Palm Beach Atlantic (301, +13) for the third slot.

Three Raven golfers ranked within the tournament top-10. Sophomore Dylan Plis (Camillus, N.Y.) carried the Ravens and stands in fifth place rifling an even 72. Junior transfer Nathan Patterson (Conway, Mass.) shot a one over 73 and is currently tied for sixth place. Patterson leads all golfers in par 4 scoring (3.90, -1) and in total pars (15) while ranking second in par 3 scoring (3.00, E). Junior Sam Myers (Colchester, Vt.) rounded out the top-10 showings turning in a 74 (+2) scorecard good enough for ninth place.

Juniors Keeton Foster (Spofford, N.H.) and Anthony Vincequere (Millbury, Mass.) fired 81 (+9) and 85 (+13) performances.

Franklin Pierce looks to win the team championship during the second round tomorrow with Vincequere teeing off on the first hole at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow.
