Men's Golf Tied For First After First Day of Saint Rose Shootout

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (October 7, 2016) – Fresh off a fifth place finish at the Northeast-10 Championships Monday, the Franklin Pierce University men's golf team returned to action in a big way, placing first after day one of the Saint Rose Fall Shootout Friday afternoon.

The Ravens are tied with host Saint Rose for first with a score of 304 (+20). Fellow NE-10 school Bentley wraps up the first day of competition in third, a stroke behind both the Ravens and Golden Knights (305, +21).

Freshman Sam Myers (Colchester, Vt.) leads the squad and heads into the clubhouse in second place after he shot a 73 (+2). Classmate Keeton Foster (Chesterfield, R.I.) rounds out the first day top-5 finishes for FPU as he's tied for fourth (75, +4). Anthony Vincequere (Millbury, Mass.) ties with nine other golfers for 11th place at 77, six over par.
