Men’s Golf closes weekend at FPU Fall Invitational with fifth place finish
KEENE, N.H. (October 19, 2015) – Sophomore Taylor Simpson (Londonderry, N.H.) played a second consecutive solid round shooting a 75 (+3) en route to a tie for 10th place finish and helping the Franklin Pierce University Men's Golf team to a fifth place finish at the FPU Fall Invitational.
Simpson's high finish for Franklin Pierce gave the home team some clout on the leaderboard, while finishing second in the top five was senior Travis Landry (Loudon, N.H.). Landry improved from his Sunday score by five strokes, shooting a 77 (+5), finishing in a tie for 20th. Also finishing in a tie for 20th was sophomore Will Pennington (Heswall, England), shooting an 86 (+14) to pair with his previous day 73.
The final two top players for Franklin Pierce were senior Nick Adjutant (Rochester, N.H.) and sophomore Tom Arisco (Cheshire, Conn.) each shot an 88 (+16) on the day, as Adjutant finished in a tie for 33rd, while Arisco finished in a tie for 41st.
Franklin Pierce played a "B" squad in the tournament, featuring junior Ben French (Fremont, N.H.), junior Josh Holt (Southampton, Mass.), junior Kyle Libiszewski (Holland, Mass.), sophomore Christopher Pasto (Newton, N.H.), and freshman Taylor Morang (Winthrop, Maine).
The Ravens also featured a few individual players, including senior Brad Auclair (Cumberland, R.I.), freshman Nate Goldsnider (Bolton, Conn.), and senior Jack Manning (North Reading, Mass.).
The crimson and grey now head to the NEIGA Championship next weekend starting Sunday, October 25 at The Captain's Golf Course in Brewster, Mass.
