B.J. POWERS CARDS SOLID FINAL ROUND TO LEAD GOLF IN FINAL ROUND OF NCAA REGIONAL
Brian Fleckles finishes tied for 86th in final collegiate match
HERSHEY, Pa. (May 9, 2012) -- Senior co-captain
B.J. Powers (Southbury, Conn.) carded a solid
final round score of 79 (+8) to lead the Franklin Pierce University
golf team on the third day of the 2012 NCAA Division II Tournament
East/Atlantic Regional at the Hershey Country Club-East Course in
Hershey, Pa.
The Ravens shot a 47-over-par, 331, during the third round and finished 20th in the regional after recording a three-day total of 996 (+144).
Powers capped his outstanding senior season with a solid showing in the final round of the regional. He finished 97th overall with a score of 255 (+42).
Junior Ian Landry (Loudon, N.H.) was the Ravens highest finisher as he placed 82nd with a three-round score of 250 (+37), including a final round 83 (+12).
Three Ravens tied for 86th with identical scores of 251 (+38), including senior co-captain Brian Fleckles (Sandwich, Mass.), sophomore Adam Spencer (Jericho, Vt.) and freshman C.J. Konkowski (West Chesterfield, N.H.). Spencer carded a final round 84 (+13), while Fleckles followed with an 85 (+14) and Konkowski was next with an 86 (+15).
