Men's Basketball: Ravens Win Second Half but Fall Short to Pace, 93-80

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y (2/10/2024) -- The Franklin Pierce men's basketball lost their seventh straight game Saturday afternoon on the road at Pace University, 93-80.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• In the first half, it was all Pace from the opening tip. They outscored Franklin Pierce 49-31.
• Three Franklin Pierce starters finished in double-figures. Sophomore guard Pierce Prendergast (Bayport, NY) had 15 points and shot 2 for 14 from the field. He was 10 for 14 from the free-throw line. Sophomore guard RJ Delahaye (Newburgh, NY) had 15 points and shot 4 for 9 from the field. He was 6 for 6 from the charity stripe and grabbed seven rebounds. Junior forward Ja'Keese Kemp (Lakeland, FL) had 10 points and shot 2 for 4 from the field. He was 2 for 3 from behind the arc and 4 for 4 from the free-throw line.
• Sophomore guard Andrew Politi (Salem, NH) had 13 points and shot 5 for 7 from the field. He was 3 for 3 from behind the arc.
• The difference in this game was Pace graduate forward Bryan Powell. He scored 40 points and shot 15 for 22 from the field. He was 8 for 10 from the charity stripe and hauled in nine rebounds.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:
• Franklin Pierce shot 39% from the field (20 for 51). Pace shot 52% from the field (33 for 64)
• Franklin Pierce shot 36% from behind the arc (8 for 22). Pace shot 33% from behind the arc (6 for 18).
• Franklin Pierce shot 80% from the free throw line (32 for 40). Pace shot 88% from the free-throw line (21 for 24).
• Pace had 54 points in the paint, 15 second-chance points, and 39 rebounds.
• Franklin Pierce had 20 turnovers.
