Men's Basketball: Down to the Wire, Ravens Fall to Dominican in Final Minute

RINDGE, N.H (12/29/2023) -- In their final game of 2023, the Franklin Pierce men's basketball team narrowly lost to Dominican College (N.Y.) 83-80 Friday afternoon at The Fieldhouse.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Dominican (N.Y.) junior forward Seth Sharif-Brown led all scorers with 25 points. He shot 9 for 18 from the field and 2 for 3 from behind the arc. Sharif-Brown has scored 20 or more points in three of his last five games.
• Dominican (N.Y.) junior guard Joshuel White came off the bench, played 26 minutes, and had 16 points. He shot 4 for 7 from the field and 4 for 4 from behind the arc.
• Franklin Pierce had a nine-point lead heading into halftime against Dominican (N.Y.). The Chargers outscored the Ravens 50-38 in the second half and held on to win 83-80.
• Four Ravens finished the afternoon in double figures. Junior forward Sean Trumper (Ashford, United Kingdom) had 24 points and shot 7 for 17 from the field. He was 1 for 3 from behind the arc and 9 for 10 from the free-throw line. Sophomore guard RJ Delahaye (Newburgh, N.Y) had 14 points and shot 5 for 8 from the field. Sophomore forward Ugo Nwachukwu (Imo State, Nigeria) played 17 minutes off the bench and had 12 points. He shot 5 for 9 from the field. Ja'Keese Kemp (Lakeland, FL), in his first game as a member of the Ravens, played 20 minutes and had 14 points. He shot 5 for 8 from the field.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:
• Franklin Pierce shot 46% from the field (28 for 61). Dominican (N.Y.) shot 40% from the field (31 for 77)
• Franklin Pierce shot 33% from behind the arc (7 for 21). Dominican (N.Y.) shot 39% from behind the arc (9 for 23).
• Franklin Pierce shot 74% from the free throw line (17 for 23). Dominican (N.Y.) shot 55% from the free-throw line (12 for 22).
