Men's Basketball: Ravens Fall in Fourth Quarter During Back and Forth Home Opener

RINDGE, N.H (11/26/2023) -- The Franklin Pierce men's basketball team lost their home opener to Assumption University Sunday afternoon at The Fieldhouse 86-79.

 HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Junior forward Sean Trumper (Ashford, United Kingdom) led all scorers with 22 points, shot 7 for 15 from the field, and was 8 for 8 from the free throw line.
• Three Franklin Pierce starters finished the night in double figures. Junior guard Jarnel Snow-Guzman (Lynn, MA) had 17 points and shot 5 for 10 from the field. Sophomore forward Ugo Nwachukwu (Imo State, Nigeria) had 12 points and shot 4 for 5 from the field. Trumper had 22 points and shot 7 for 15 from the field.
• The Ravens took care of business in the first half, outscoring the Greyhounds 42-35. In the second half, Assumption went on a big run and took the lead in the final five minutes to win 86-79.

 BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:
• Franklin Pierce shot 42% from the field (27 for 64). Assumption shot 50% from the field (28 for 56)
• Franklin Pierce shot 45% from behind the arc (9 for 20). Assumption shot 46% from behind the arc (6 for 13).
• Franklin Pierce shot 80% from the free throw line (16 for 20). Assumption shot 83% from the free-throw line (24 for 29).
