RINDGE, N.H. (November 20, 2021) – Junior Isaiah Moore (Temple Hills, Md.) went for career highs in both points (35) and assists (11) to record his second career double-double on Saturday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University men's basketball team opened the Northeast-10 Conference portion of its schedule in style in the team's home opener in the Fieldhouse. Moore had 21 at the half, and 13 three-pointers keyed a 55-point opening stanza for the Ravens, who breezed past Saint Anselm, 92-68.

With the win, Franklin Pierce improves to 2-2 (1-0 NE10), while Saint Anselm falls to 0-2 (0-2 NE10). The two sides will round out the season series later in the year with a Feb. 16 contest at Saint Anselm.

The Ravens jumped to a quick lead over the Hawks with a 27-9 run over the opening 10 minutes and change. The offense continued to find the basket, to the tune of 21-for-39 shooting in the first half, on the way to a 55-29 halftime lead. Franklin Pierce was outscored by a pair in the second half, but it was far too little too late for Saint Anselm, as the Ravens put it in cruise control on the way to the 24-point win.

Franklin Pierce chalked up 18 three pointers on the day, as part of an 18-for-33 (54.5%) performance from long distance, which accounted for more than half of the team's offense. In all, it was a 36-for-73 shooting day (49.3%) with just five turnovers for the Ravens, who were able to outshine the 25-for-65 (38.5%) afternoon the Hawks put together. Saint Anselm hit just seven of its 27 three-point attempts (25.9%).

Moore finished with 35 points, which was his second 30-point outing of the season in just four games. He went 15-for-25 from the field, which included 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. Moore added in 11 assists -- his first career double-digit assist outing -- to record his second career double-double.

Moore was joined in double digits by junior Maxwell Zegarowski (South Hamilton, Mass.), who went for 12 points on 4-for-9 shooting, with all of his makes coming from long distance. Freshman Mohamed Traore (Hyde Park, Mass.) chipped in 11 points as well, on 4-for-11 from the floor. Sophomore Antonio Chandler (Piscataway, N.J.) was the team's leading rebounder, with nine boards off the bench.

For Saint Anselm, it was 15 points for senior Miles Tention, though he shot just 5-for-15. Fellow senior Chris Paul added 14 points on 5-for-12 from the floor and hauled in a game-high 11 rebounds to post a double-double. Off the bench, senior Alonzo Jackson made it three Hawks in double digits with 12 points on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting day, plus 2-for-2 from the foul line.

Franklin Pierce is back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 23, on the road with another NE10 matchup, against Assumption University. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Laska Gymnasium in Worcester, Mass.
