MANCHESTER, N.H. (January 8, 2020) – The Franklin Pierce University senior guard tandem of Falu Seck (Washington, D.C.) and Doyin Fadojutimi (Temple Hills, Md.) combined to score 41 of the Ravens 91 points in a 91-86 victory against Northeast-10 Conference rival Southern New Hampshire University Wednesday night in the Stan Spirou Field House.

The win, the third in a row for the Ravens moves them to 9-4, 4-2 NE10 while the host Penmen slide to 9-5, 2-4 NE10. Franklin Pierce won their first game in Manchester versus SNHU since a 77-63 victory back on December 4, 2013, the win stopped a five-game losing streak on the Penmen's home court.

Seck was comfortable shooting either off the drive or from long range in the contest. He knocked down 7-of-13 (53.8%) of his field goals and 2-of-3 (66.7%) from distance while dropping in four freebies, two rebounds, and two assists. The 20-point game matched a season-high and it was the third time he's recorded 20 points this year.

Fadojutimi was one rebound away from a double-double as he poured in a game-high 21 points going 5-of-11 (45.4%) from the floor and 3-of-5 (60.0%) beyond the arc. He was perfect at the free-throw line (8-for-8) grabbed nine rebounds and dished out three dimes. It's the seventh time in 13 games that Fadojutimi had scored 20+ points.

Frontcourt companion Isaiah Moore (Temple Hills, Md.) was the only other starter to reach double-figures. The sophomore manufactured 16 points (5-of-7 FG, 71.4%), knocked down six free throws, handed out a game-best and career-high matching seven assists.

Sean Fasoyiro (Houston, Texas) provided production off the bench with 10 points and nine rebounds – three offensive while Sam van Oostrum (Sheffield, England) scored eight points and secured seven boards.

The Penmen were led by a balanced scoring attack which saw four of five starters tally double-digit scoring totals. Guard Michael Almonacy paved the way with 19 points, three rebounds, three steals, and two assists.

The Ravens outrebounded the Penmen 41-to-31 and had more points via reserve players (21-to-12). The shooting totals were nearly identical.

SNHU scored the first five points of the game. FPU immediately tied the game off a Fadojutimi right-wing three-ball. The hosts would go on to outscore the Ravens 8-3 to lead 13-8 following an Eamonn Joyce right corner trifecta five minutes into the game. Raven freshman forward Sean Bresnan (Yonkers, N.Y.) went to work notching seven consecutive points for the crimson and grey, a mid-range right elbow jumper, a left baseline drive to the rack and a left corner three to tie the match 15-15.

With the Penmen ahead 19-17, Pierce went on a 15-4 scoring spurt including 10 in a row. van Oostrum tallied four points, with one bucket coming off a Fasoyiro steal and Fadojutimi connected on two treys to open up a nine-point, 32-23 lead. The Ravens kept on tacking on markers when Seck found sophomore transfer Maxwell Zegarowski (South Hamilton, Mass.) in the right corner for a triple which opened up the biggest lead for FPU in the first half, 38-26 with 5:23 to go.

Two Shawn Montague freebies put his squad down by seven, however, Seck drained a stepback right-wing triple to re-establish the double-digit Raven edge. Over the final 1:43 of the stanza, both teams swapped free throws as Corry Long split a pair with two seconds left to put the hosts behind 47-36 at the intermission.

Pierce shot 51.5% (17-of-33) from the floor in the first half and 58.3% (7-of-12) from long range. They also out produced SNHU 16-to-10 in the post. In the second half, FPU struggled shooting threes going 2-of-13 (15.4%) from range.

Seck made a strong take to the glass from the right side and scooped a shot off the window and in to move the Ravens ahead 51-37. Joyce dropped the SNHU margin to nine when he sank a right-wing three-ball. Moore answered with a driving deuce then Seck knocked down a corner three close to the Raven bench. The Raven lead stayed within 14-to-15 points until a Jameson Pierrelus (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) layup and a Fasoyiro long-range connection gave Pierce their biggest lead of the game, 72-52 with 11:14 left.

The Penmen would not go away as they went on a 26-8 explosion over the next five minutes and change to come within two, 80-78 at the 5:07 mark following two steals off a press. The Ravens regrouped and Fasoyiro dropped in a bucket following a Seck layup that was blocked. Seck then went to the line and split his free throws to increase the Raven margin to 83-78. On the ensuing Penmen possession, Fadojutimi was fouled attempting a rebound and he buried two free throws to increase the margin to 85-78.

With the Ravens having a seven-point edge, Almonacy converted a layup to make it a two-possession game, 87-82 with under two minutes to go. Almonacy then drove baseline, which brought it to a three-point game, 87-84. Pierce had a few chances to drain field goals. A missed Pierrelus three was snared by Fasoyiro and Pierrelus took another triple from the same spot, but it went in and out of the rim. 23 seconds remained as Jacari Sanders missed a layup that was contested by the Raven defense.

Pierce ran some time off the clock and Moore was fouled. He hit both freebies to open up a two-possession lead 89-84 with 14 seconds left. SNHU was fouled, they connected on both charity stripe attempts and Moore iced the game with two more free chances.

The Ravens remain on the road for their second duel of a three-game road swing at conference opponent American International College Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
