Field Hockey Announced as Recipients of the NFHCA National Academic Team Award

GENEVA, N.Y. (2/23/23) — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) recently announced a total nine NCAA Division II programs that were recipients of the 2023 NFHCA Division II National Academic Team Award. At the top of the list was the Franklin Pierce University field hockey program, who posted the highest-ranked team grade point average with a mark of 3.66.

It was a close finish at the top for the Ravens, who came out ahead of a second-place tie between East Stroudsburg University (PSAC) and fellow Northeast-10 opponent Pace University, both of whom finished with a team GPA of 3.65.

Per the official statement by the NFHCA, "The NFHCA National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year." The full list of awarded teams can be viewed here.

In addition, a total of ten members of the Franklin Pierce field hockey program were also selected as NFHCA Division II National Academic Squad honorees, joining a list of 318 total student athletes.
