Field Hockey Drops 3-1 Decision to Saint Anselm in Spring Finale

RINDGE, N.H. (April 19, 2021) - The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team wrapped up its abbreviated spring 2021 campaign on Monday night, with a sterner test than in its previous three games. This time, Saint Anselm, the 2019 national runner-up, came calling at Sodexo Field. The Ravens hung with the Hawks in the first half, but a pair of fourth-quarter goals proved to be the difference, as Saint Anselm took a 3-1 victory.
Field Hockey Blanks AIC on Senior Day, 2-0

RINDGE, N.H. (April 11, 2021) - For the second time in four days, the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team dealt American International a 2-0 loss on Sunday. This time, freshman Anna Beck (Attleboro, Mass.) struck at the end of the first quarter and fellow freshman Julia Rooijakkers (Eindhoven, Netherlands) added a fourth-quarter goal as the Ravens celebrated Senior Day with a victory over the visiting Yellow Jackets at Sodexo Field.
Field Hockey Shuts Out AIC, 2-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 8, 2021) - A pair of third-quarter goals were the only scoring at Abdow Field on Thursday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team hit the road and dealt American International a 2-0 loss in non-conference play. Sophomore Alicia Hottleman (Mansfield, Mass.) scored both goals, in a span of just 77 seconds. Senior Olivia Barnes (Greenwich, N.Y.) made seven saves to record the shutout.
Field Hockey Takes Care of Keene State, 6-0

RINDGE, N.H. (April 1, 2021) - Back on the field for the first time since the end of the 2019 season, the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team filled up the net early and often on Thursday night at Sodexo Field. Freshman Anna Beck (Attleboro, Mass.) scored twice in her collegiate debut, while sophomore Meghan Winn (Newburyport, Mass.) added a goal and an assist, as the Ravens rolled over fellow Cheshire County institution Keene State in non-conference play, 6-0.
Field Hockey Has 11 Named to NFHCA Division II National Academic Squad

WEXFORD, Pa. (March 29, 2021) - The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team has had 11 student-athletes named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II National Academic Squad, as announced in recent weeks by the NFHCA. Furthermore, freshman back Claire Stewart (Pownal, Maine) was named as a Scholar of Distinction by the NFHCA, while the team earned the NFHCA’s National Academic Team Award.

(November 2, 2020) – As a unique and unprecedented fall semester continues on, the Franklin Pierce University Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the addition of several members of the coaching and support staffs for the 2020-21 year. These coaches and staff have been hard at work on the Rindge campus as Raven Nation prepares in hopes of a return to intercollegiate athletics competition in the spring semester.
"The Last Practice": Field Hockey's Sturgeon Contributes to USA Field Hockey

On Wednesday morning, sophomore Gabi Sturgeon (Granby, Conn.) of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team was published as a contributing author to USA Field Hockey. Sturgeon -- who also serves as a feature writer in FPU's Athletic Communication office -- wrote a piece titled "The Last Practice" for the national governing body. She explores the sentiments of a student-athlete who may have their career cut short by injury. "There is always mention about your last game... But what about your last practice?" Sturgeon writes.
