RINDGE, N.H. (September 14, 2018) – The Franklin Pierce University field hockey game scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 16 against Merrimack at Sodexo Field has been postponed.

The ongoing emergency situation regarding the natural gas mains in North Andover and surrounding towns forced the closure of Merrimack’s campus on Friday. As a result, Merrimack’s team would be prevented from adequately preparing for an intercollegiate athletic contest this weekend. With neither team having a midweek game on the schedule for next week, the teams’ coaches agreed to postpone the match in the interest of student-athlete welfare.

The game will be made up on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Sodexo Field in Rindge. Game time is currently set for 1 p.m.
