(March 7, 2013) – Senior midfielder Megan Bird (Laconia, N.H.), freshman forward Chelsey Burnell (West Baldwin, Maine), freshman goalkeeper Sarah Cote (Athol, Mass.), junior midfielder Alesia Gleason (Harwich, Mass.) and senior back Alyssa Juszczyk (Warren, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team have all been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II National Academic Squad, as announced Tuesday by the NFHCA.

RINDGE, N.H. (November 9, 2012) – Senior midfielder Megan Bird (Laconia, N.H.) of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team has been selected to represent the North Squad at the National Field Hockey Coaches Association North/South Senior Game, as announced by the NFHCA. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. at Cushing Field on the campus of the University of Massachusetts Lowell, host of the national semifinals and National Championship game, also held this weekend.

WORCESTER, Mass. (October 20, 2012) – Senior midfielder Megan Bird (Laconia, N.H.) of the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team entered the final game of her career on Saturday afternoon with 13 career assists, one behind the program’s all-time record. An assist in the first half tied the record, and another in the second half gave her sole possession, as she finished with 15 helpers. Unfortunately, the two assists would not be enough for the Ravens, who dropped a 3-2, overtime decision on the road at Assumption in Northeast-10 Conference play.

Senior forward Beth Maguire and sophomore forward Gina Lirange tallied a goal and an assist each for Bentley, with the latter scoring the game-winning goal.

(October 2, 2012) - A drive off a penalty corner by senior midfielder Megan Bird (Laconia, N.H.) with 3:34 to play in the first overtime on Tuesday night ricocheted off a defender and into the back of the cage to give the Franklin Pierce University field hockey team a 1-0 road win over Saint Anselm in Northeast-10 Conference play at Grappone Stadium. Freshman goalkeeper Sarah Cote (Athol, Mass.) made nine saves for her first collegiate shutout.
