Huszar leads Ravens with a goal and an assist

Mary Beth Huszar Mary Beth Huszar tallied a goal and an assist on Sunday against Saint Anselm.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 16 , 2005) – The Franklin Pierce field hockey team scored three unanswered goals in the match to defeat Saint Anselm College, 3-0, in Northeast-10 conference action this afternoon at Sodexho Field.

Franklin Pierce freshman Jenee Clifford (Sandown, N.H./Timberlane) scored the only goal the Ravens would need with 12:14 remaining in the first half off a feed from junior Mary Beth Huszar (Greenville, N.H./Greenville). Huszar would later add her ninth goal of the season early in the second half off a pass from senior Trisha Langevin (Bellingham, Mass./Bellingham).

Sophomore Alison Daday (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster) would provide extra insurance for the Ravens, when she scored her first goal of the season off of Langevin’s second assist with 4:37 remaining in the match.

Saint Anselm freshman goalkeeper Sarah Oakes (N. Yarmouth, Maine/Greely) made four saves of the visiting Hawks, while Franklin Pierce junior goalkeeper Amanda Pietraszuk (Clinton, Conn./The Morgan School) stopped two shots on route to her third shutout of the season.

Franklin Pierce (6-10, 4-9 NE-10) will be in action again on Tuesday, when it travels to American International College for a match starting at 4 p.m. Saint Anselm College (2-14, 1-13 NE-10) will host No. 5 Bentley College on Tuesday for a match starting at 3:30 p.m.
