WALTHAM, Mass. (October 26, 2002) - Sophomore Kerry Kopec netted the game winning goal off of a penalty corner at the 25:55 mark of the second half to lift Bentley College past Franklin Pierce, 1-0, in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey action this afternoon.

Junior Kara Bouvier and sophomore Jenn Walker assisted on Kopec's game winner.

Senior goalkeeper Kasey McClements (Ashland, Mass./Ashland) held off the Bentley attack as the Falcons recorded 25 shots on net.

McClements recorded a season-high 26 saves despite the loss. Bentley goalkeeper, Liz Novis (Watertown, Mass./Watertown) did not register a save in the shutout win.

Franklin Pierce ends the 2002 season with a 4-10 record overall, 4-6 in the Northeast-10. Bentley (13-4, 7-3 NE-10) next will compete on Wednesday, October 30 in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament first round.
