Winter Storm Harper Forces Schedule Changes

Winter Storm Harper Forces Schedule Changes

RINDGE, N.H. (January 17, 2019) – With Winter Storm Harper bearing down on the region and forecasts calling for well over a foot of snow Saturday night and through Sunday, several Franklin Pierce University teams have announced changes to their weekend schedule.

At home, men’s ice hockey is scheduled to host intrastate rival Southern New Hampshire at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena. In an effort to allow SNHU to return home before conditions deteriorate, the start time has moved up to 6:10 p.m.

On the road, it is a similar circumstance for Ravens basketball’s trip to Albany, N.Y., to take on Saint Rose. The women’s game will now begin at noon, with the men’s game to follow at 2 p.m., so the Ravens can get out of town before the storm hits.

Finally, Ravens track & field has canceled its trip to Boston on Sunday for the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational. The team’s trip to Maine for the Bates Invitational on Saturday remains on as scheduled.

Fans intending to attend any Franklin Pierce events as the storm approaches are encouraged to exercise extreme caution while traveling.
