213 Franklin Pierce Student-Athletes Named to Spring 2013 NE-10 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll

Six student-athletes earn perfect 4.0 GPAs during the semester

Volleyball standout Catie Swiderski, who was named Franklin Pierce's Co-Winner of the Community Service Award in May, was recently placed on the NE-10 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

RINDGE, N.H. (July 1, 2013) – Franklin Pierce University recently had 213 of its student-athletes named to the Spring 2013 Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll. The total number came from 18 teams on the Rindge campus that compete in the Northeast-10 Conference.

The baseball and women’s track & field teams each led the way with a department-high 23 student-athletes named to the honor roll, while the men’s ice hockey team followed right behind with 22 honorees.

Twelve (12) Ravens teams in all reached double-figures for academic honorees, as the list also  included women’s soccer (18), men’s track & field (18), women’s cross country (16), volleyball (14), softball (13), men’s lacrosse (13), men’s soccer (13), women’s lacrosse (12) and women’s basketball (11).

The other teams to have student-athletes earn a spot on the academic list included men’s cross country (8), field hockey (8), men’s basketball (5), women’s tennis (5), men’s tennis (4) and men’s golf (3).

Six student-athletes earned perfect 4.0 grade point averages for the spring semester including Samantha Bureau (women’s track & field), Keri Marnane (women’s cross country/track & field), Kristen Matuszak (volleyball), Jacqueline Price (women’s track & field), Catie Swiderski (volleyball) and Courtney Weber (women’s lacrosse/soccer).

Ninety-three (93) Raven student-athletes earned GPAs of 3.50 or higher during the semester, while 120 more earned marks between 3.00 and 3.49.

To be eligible for selection to the Northeast-10 Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll a student-athlete must have met or exceeded a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the spring 2013 semester.
