222 Franklin Pierce Student-Athletes Named to Fall NE-10 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll

10 student-athletes earn perfect 4.0 GPAs; 3 of those (volleyball's Natasha Ray, men's soccer's Daniel Donaldson, women's soccer's Aya Noguchi) earned 1st-Tm All-NE-10 honors in their respective sports

LIST OF FPU NE-10 HONOR ROLL HONOREES

RINDGE, N.H. (February 5, 2013) -- Franklin Pierce University on Tuesday had 222 of its student-athletes named to the Fall 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. The 222 student-athletes came from 18 teams on the Rindge campus that compete in the Northeast-10 Conference.

On the men's side, the baseball team led the way for all teams with 32 of its student-athletes being named to the honor roll. The women's team with the highest number of honorees was the track & field squad, which posted 20 of its members on the academic list.

Ten (10) other Ravens teams produced double-digit honorees on the academic honor roll, including men's ice hockey (23), men's soccer (19), women's soccer (18), men's lacrosse (15), women's cross country (15), volleyball (15), softball (13), women's lacrosse (12), women's basketball (12) and men's track & field (11).

The other Franklin Pierce teams to be recognized on the honor roll included field hockey (9), men's basketball (8), men's cross country (6), men's tennis (6), golf (5) and women's tennis (4).

Ten (10) student-athletes produced perfect 4.0 grade point averages during the semester, including women's cross country/track & field's Sarah Barnard, men's soccer's Daniel Donaldson, women's track & field's Amanda Kauffman, men's soccer's Tom Leaver, women's tennis' Natasha McCarthy, men's ice hockey's Ryo Miyazaki, softball's Melissa Morgan, women's soccer's Aya Noguchi, volleyball's Natasha Ray and women's soccer's Caroline Savasta.

Eighty-six (86) student-athletes earned GPAs between 3.50-3.99, while 126 earned marks between 3.00-3.49. The total number of 222 represents more than 50 percent of Franklin Pierce student-athletes that compete in a Northeast-10 sponsored sport.

To be eligible for selection for the Northeast-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded a minimum 3.0 semester GPA (on a 4.0 scale) during the fall '12 semester.
