PREVIOUS STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR THE 2013-14 SEASON:

SEPT. 9
Antoine Gisore (Men's Cross Country): Gisore won the Roger Williams Invitational on Saturday in a time of 16:19.30. It was his first cross country race in an FPU uniform.

Catie Swiderski (Volleyball): Swiderski hammered out 24 kills over two matches to help lead the volleyball team in claiming the championship of Millersville Marauder Clash over the weekend.

SEPT. 16
Antoine Gisore (Men's Cross Country): Gisore finished second in the Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup, marking his second top-two finish in as many races this season.

Ashley Bruce (Volleyball): Ashley hammered out a team-high 12 kills and hit a match-best .409 on 22 attempts to lead volleyball to a 3-0 sweep of Post on Saturday.

SEPT. 23
Mike Abrams (Sprint Football): Mike was named the MVP of the Allegiance Bowl on Saturday in leading the Ravens to a 13-6 win over Cornell. Abrams logged a game-high 10 tackles intercepted a pass blocked a kick and broke up a pair of passes. He also rushed for 33 yards.

Nicole Chaet (Women's Soccer): Nicole scored three goals last week to move into the team lead with three markers. They were the first of her collegiate career. She scored twice in a 4-2 win over Merrimack on Wednesday and then booted in a strike in a 2-1 win over Southern Connecticut State on Saturday. 

SEPT. 30
Justin Corday (Men's Soccer): Justin picked the the most opportune time to score his first collegiate goal as it came in the 97th minute to lift the Ravens to a 1-0 overtime win over Assumption on Saturday.

Aiden Garcia (Volleyball): Aiden averaged 10 kills in two matches last week including nine in the Ravens' huge 3-2 win over Bridgeport on Saturday. 

OCT. 7
D.J. MacDonald (Sprint Football): D.J. touched the ball just 11 times in Friday's 66-12 win over Princeton but he produced 174 yards of total offense and scored six touchdowns. He rushed for 130 yards and five touchdowns on only 10 carries (13.0 ypc) and caught one pass for 44 yards and a touchdown.

Katie Weldon (Women's Soccer): Weldon did not yield a regulation goal in a pair of matches last week including making three saves in a 0-0 tie with Bentley on Wednesday. She made six saves in a tough 1-0 OT loss to Adelphi on Saturday. 

OCT. 14
Stew Wise (Men's Golf): Stew shot a pair of rounds in the 70s over the weekend to finish tied for sixth at the St. Rose Fall Shootout in New York. He carded a 77 in the opening round and followed with a 76 in the final round for a 153 (+11).

Madison Finlay (Women's Soccer): Madison scored three goals during the past week including a pair in last Tuesday's 2-0 win over Saint Michael's. She scored once in Monday's 2-2 tie with Roberts Wesleyan and in the process moved into the team lead in goals with three. 

OCT. 21
Nick Trochalakis (Sprint Football): Nick recorded a team-high 10 tackles including 2.0 for loss and a sack in Saturday's 27-24 overtime win over Mansfield. He is averaging a little more than a tackle for loss per game this season.

Alesia Gleason (Field Hockey): Alesia had her first career multiple goal game in Thursday's 4-3 win over Southern Connecticut State. She scored twice including the game-winner and assisted on another tally to lead the Ravens to victory. Gleason also had an assist versus nationally-ranked Bentley earlier in the week.

OCT. 28
Pedro Espindola (Men's Soccer): Pedro scored three times in two matches last week including a pair of markers in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Saint Michael's. He added a goal in Saturday's 2-0 triumph over New Haven and ranks second on the team with four goals this season. He has recorded 25 shots over his last four matches.

Alyssa Lambert (Women's Cross Country): Alyssa earned Third-Team All-Northeast-10 Conference honors on Sunday after placing 19th at the NE-10 Championship in Manchester. It marked the first all-conference recognition in the program's history. Alyssa has finished in the top-20 in two of her last three races this season. 

NOV. 4
Sam Meza (Men's Soccer): Meza saw 190 minutes of action in net over two matches last week and did not yield a goal during that stretch including 110 minutes in a scoreless draw with Merrimack on Wednesday.

Karsyn Baker (Women's Ice Hockey): Karsyn scored twice and assisted on five other goals for a seven-point weekend as the Ravens opened up the new campaign with a 2-0 record with wins over Nichols and Plymouth State. Karsyn scored a goal in each game and had three assists to go along with that marker against Nichols. 

NOV. 11
Men's Cross Country All-Region Honorees (Men's Cross Country): Antoine Gisore B.J. Smith and Makopa Rugabirwa earned All-East Region honors by finishing among the top-25 of the individual standings to lead men's cross country to a 2nd place finish at the NCAA East Regional on Sunday. The Ravens also earned a trip to the NCAA National Championship Race in two weeks. It's the program's first trip to the nationals in just its second season of varsity competition.

2013 Senior Class (Volleyball): Lauren Miller - Katie Jackson - Natasha Ray - Ashley Bruce - Sandy Maliangos and Stephanie Svorinic have played a huge role in the success of the volleyball program these past two years and on Saturday they were honored on Senior Day. They guided the Ravens to the NCAA Tournament in 2012 and have the team on the verge of making it back to nationals once again in 2013 with a surge in play recently. The seniors led the squad to a pair of wins over the weekend against Le Moyne and Saint Rose. 

NOV. 18
Donte Gittens (Men's Basketball): Donte averaged 9.3 points on 63 percent shooting from the field over three games last week including a team-high 13 points in Saturday's 85-72 win over Molloy. He also averaged 4.7 assists 3.3 rebounds 2.3 blocks and 1.0 steals per game. He swatted away four shots in the win over Lesley on Wednesday.

Sydni Schulz (Volleyball): Schulz logged 37 total kills in two matches last week including 21 in a 3-1 win over Southern New Hampshire on Tuesday. She also had 16 digs in that contest. Sydni followed it up with 16 kills and 10 digs in a 3-1 triumph at Southern Connecticut State on Friday as the Ravens capped their regular season with a fifth-straight victory. 

NOV. 25
Colton Ham (Men's Cross Country): Colton was the highest finisher for the men's cross country team at the 2013 NCAA Division II National Championship race this past Saturday. He placed 112th out of 246 competitors in a time of 32:28.40. He helped lead the Ravens to the best finish of the East Region teams at the national race.

Francesca Paciello (Women's Ice Hockey): Francesca scored the eventual game-winning goal in Friday's 4-1 win over Stevenson as the Ravens eventually swept the two-game weekend series. She added an assist in the win as well. Fran also tossed in a goal in Saturday's triumph. 

DEC. 2
Ellis Cooper (Men's Basketball): Ellis averaged 23.0 points and 15.0 rebounds per game in two contests last week, including 27 points an 15 rebounds in Sunday's 89-69 win over Assumption.

Brittany Martelle (Women's Basketball): Brittany averaged 14.5 points per game in two contests last week, including dropping in 17 against No. 11 Stonehill. 

DEC. 9
Ryen Vilmont (Men's Basketball): Ryen averaged 21.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in two Ravens' wins last week. He had a game-high tying 22 points in Wednesday's win at SNHU while following it up with 21 points and 14 rebounds in Saturday's triumph over Saint Anselm. He blocked six shots in the contest.

Sarah Sheils (Women's Ice Hockey): Sarah scored the game-winning goal on the power play in the third period of Sunday's 1-0 win over Buffalo State. She also dished out three assists in Friday's 4-1 win over Buffalo State for a three-point evening. 

DEC. 16
Antoine Gisore (Men's Indoor Track & Field): Antoine posted the fastest Northeast-10 Conference time in the mile on Saturday with a mark of 4:16.26 at the Jay Carisella Invitational. The time is the fastest in the conference by three seconds and qualifies him for the New England Championships.

Karsyn Baker (Women's Ice Hockey): Karsyn tallied a hat-trick with three goals in Friday's 5-2 win over SUNY Canton. She followed up that performance with a goal and an assist in Saturday's 3-1 triumph over Canton to complete the two-game weekend sweep. 

JAN. 6
Aaron Blaker (Men's Ice Hockey): Aaron scored the game-winning goal on the power play in Saturday's 3-2 triumph at Assumption. It also marked the first goal and point of Blaker's collegiate career as the Ravens opened the second half of their season in fine fashion.

Kara Charette (Women's Basketball): Kara pumped in a career-high 28 points and added eight rebounds to lead the Ravens to a 90-77 win over NYIT on Sunday. She was 8-of-14 from the floor and 12-for-15 from the free throw line. She scored six-straight points late in the first half to put the Ravens up by double-figures as they would never seriously be threatened the rest of the way. 

JAN. 13
Ryen Vilmont (Men's Basketball): Ryen averaged 23.0 points on 57 percent shooting in two games last week. He pumped in a career-high 32 points in Saturday's win over Saint Rose including hitting a pair of three's in the second half which helped lift the Ravens to victory. He was also 6-for-6 from the foul line in the final minute to seal the win.

Brittany Martelle (Women's Basketball): Brittany averaged 15.5 points per game last week on 52 percent shooting. She had a team-high 18 points in Wednesday's win at AIC as she hit the go-ahead three-pointer with just :55 remaining. She had 13 in Saturday's win over Saint Rose. 

JAN. 20
Ellis Cooper (Men's Basketball): Ellis scored a game-high tying 22 points including laying in a coast-to-coast basket to beat the buzzer to lift Franklin Pierce to a 69-68 win over New Haven on Saturday. He was 10-of-17 from the floor and had seven rebounds to go along with his point total.

Hayley Arnold (Women's Ice Hockey): Hayley logged one goal and four assists for five points to help guide Franklin Pierce to a 2-0-1 mark last week. She assisted on the game-tying goal in a 3-3 tie at Salve Regina and then had a goal and three assists for four points in a two-game weekend sweep of UNE. She scored a short-handed goal in Saturday's 3-1 win up in Maine. 

JAN. 27
Antoine Gisore & Dage Minors (Men's Indoor Track & Field): Antoine and Dage each recorded a pair of NCAA Championship Provisional Qualifying Marks this weekend at the Terrier Invitational. Antoine record provisional marks in the 3000 meters (8:21.71 = also fastest time in the NE-10) and as a member of the DMR team (10:01.55). Minors also competed on the DMR team and ran a time of 1:53.48. His performances came just days after he spent close to two weeks out in Oregon training as a member of Bermuda's Junior National Team.

Alyssa Lambert (Women's Indoor Track & Field): Coming off an impressive cross country season where she earned All-NE-10 honors Alyssa turned in a strong performance in the early part of the indoor season Friday when she ran the fourth fastest time in the mile in the NE-10 with a mark of 5:10.83. It also marked a personal best time for herand was just slightly off reaching an NCAA Championship Provisional Qualifying Mark. 

FEB. 3
Adrianos Vourliotakis Perdikaris (Men's Basketball): Adrianos averaged 14.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in two games last week. He dumped in a team-high 15 points in Wednesday's 65-54 win over Adelphi. Adrianos then scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half of Saturday's come-from-behind 72-67 win at Le Moyne. He scored six of FPU's final eight points to help pull out the win.

Kara Charette (Women's Basketball): Kara averaged 24.0 points on 75 percent shooting from the floor in two games. She also averaged 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game as well. She had 22 points and eight rebounds in Wednesday's 97-88 win over first-place Adelphi. Kara then dropped in 26 points in Saturday's game at Adelphi marking the fourth time this season she had at least 25 points in a game.

FEB. 10
Antoine Gisore (Men's Indoor Track & Field): Antoine ran the Northeast-10's fastest time in the mile on Saturday while also reaching the NCAA Championship Provisional Qualifying Mark. He ran a time of 4:11.58 which was converted to 4:14.80 for NCAA purposes.

Brittany Martelle (Women's Basketball): Brittany was a combined 7-of-15 from three-point range last week and averaged 18.0 points per game in a pair of Ravens' victories. She had 21 points in Thursday's win over St. Mike's and followed with 15 points in Saturday's triumph over Assumption. 

FEB. 17
Ellis Cooper (Men's Basketball): After returning from a two week layoff due to injury Ellis bounced back by averaging 22.5 points per game in a pair of contests. He had a remarkable 25 points and 12 rebounds in a 76-75 win over SNHU on Tuesday and followed with 20 points on Saturday at Saint Anselm.

Marisa Ketterman (Women's Ice Hockey): Marisa had a goal and an assist for two points last week as both came in a 4-1 win over Sacred Heart on Friday. She assisted on the game-winning goal and added another tally to put the game out of reach. The win was the Ravens' 18th of the season as they finished 18-4-2 in just their second season of varsity competition. 

FEB. 24
Antoine Gisore (Men's Indoor Track & Field): Antoine was crowned an NE-10 Conference Champion three times on Saturday evening. He won the mile in a time of 4:15.79 and then helped lead both the DMR and 4x800 relay teams that finished first. The DMR turned in a time of 10:14.46 while the 4x8 posted a mark of 7:56.07.

Jessica Hurd (Women's Basketball): Jess averaged 12.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in a pair of games last week. She logged an impressive output of 17 points and 12 rebounds in Saturday's 69-54 win over Merrimack to help keep the Ravens alive for a potential first round bye in next week's NE-10 Championship. 

MARCH 3
John Razzino (Baseball): John had an amazing weekend at the dish for the Ravens including a combined 5-of-8 with a home run and seven RBI in Sunday's doubleheader sweep of No. 19 Millersville. He also clubbed a solo shot in Saturday's DH against Millersville as the Ravens went 3-1 on the weekend. Overall Razzino batted .375. 

Brittany Martelle (Women's Basketball): Brittany had a terrific all-around game of 21 points 7 rebounds and 6 assists to lead women's basketball to a 74-66 come-from-behind win over Southern Connecticut State in the NE-10 first round on Friday night. The performance came just a day after she was named to the All-NE-10 Third-Team for her impressive play all season long

MARCH 10
Kevin Dargin (Men's Lacrosse): Kevin had 10 points in two games last week (9 g 1 a). He scored a school-record 8 goals in Saturday's 17-5 win over Dominican while also logging an assist for 9 points. His total points in that game also tied a school-record for most points in a single game. Dargin also had a goal at No. 8 Merrimack on Tuesday.

Madeline Shopshire (Women's Lacrosse): Madeline had 10 points in two games last week (9 g 1 a). She paced Franklin Pierce with a team-high five goals in Monday's 11-10 season-opening win at Bridgeport. Shopshire also had four goals and an assist for five points in Saturday's game at Keene State. 

MARCH 17
Ellis Cooper (Men's Basketball): Ellis averaged 27.0 points and 11.5 rebounds over two NCAA Tournament games this past weekend. He went for a game-high 24 points in Saturday's 66-65 win over Philadelphia in the first round and followed that up with an incredible 30 points and 16 rebounds in a narrow 79-77 loss to top-seeded Southern Connecticut State in the second round.

Tricia Hansen (Softball): Tricia threw a complete-game four-hit shutout with six strikeouts and no walks to lead softball to a 7-0 win over Salem International on Saturday. She had a terrific day at the dish on Sunday by going a combined 4-for-7 with a walk over two games. She also yielded just one earned run in a complete-game performance against Walsh on Sunday afternoon.

MARCH 24
Kyle Hood (Baseball): Kyle batted .455 last week with a .536 on-base percentage and a .591 slugging percentage. He had a double a triple drove in 8 runs and scored 5 more to help Franklin Pierce post a 5-2 mark during the week.

Lauren Beville (Women's Lacrosse): Lauren scored a team-high four goals including the game-winner in last week's 7-6 home win over Merrimack. Her game-winning marker came with just 8:52 remaining in the game to break a 6-6 tie. 

MARCH 31
Don Denman (Men's Lacrosse): Donnie made a combined 25 saves to backstop a pair of wins for the Ravens last week. He made 11 stops and yielded just five goals in an 11-5 win over Assumption on Tuesday. Denman followed that up with a strong 14-save performance in Saturday's 11-9 triumph over AIC.

Amanda Gauvin (Women's Lacrosse): Amanda had an eight-point week last week for the Ravens by scoring seven goals and assisting on another. She had a hat-trick in Wednesday's narrow loss to Stonehill while following up with a four-goal three-assist performance in Saturday's 12-9 win over SCSU. She also tallied the game-winning marker in that contest. 

APRIL 7
John Razzino (Baseball): John stole five bases in game 2 of Saturday's DH sweep of AIC and in the process set the single-season program record with 33 stolen bases. He has accomplished the feat in just 32 games. Razzino also went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored in the game.

Courtney Caputo (Softball): Courtney launched three home runs in Saturday's DH sweep of Southern Connecticut State and in the process tied the single-season program-record with five home runs. Her first blast was a three-run shot that came in the bottom of the eighth inning and broke a 4-4 tie in a 7-4 triumph. She ripped a pair of two-run homers in game two in a 4-3 win. 

APRIL 14
Brad Auclair (Men's Golf): Brad shot a one-under-par 143 to finish second at Friday's AIC 36-Hole Spring Classic at Ludlow CC in LudlowMass. It marked the second-straight tournament a Raven finished among the top-2 in the standings. He shot a 3-under 69 in the final round to post the outstanding two-round score.

Lauren Beville (Women's Lacrosse): Lauren recorded eight goals and two assists for 10 points in a pair of games last week. She had four goals on Tuesday at Saint Michael's and followed that up with four goals and a pair of assists for six points in a 14-10 win over American International on Saturday. 

APRIL 21
Matt Walsh (Baseball): Matt batted .333 last week while also posting a .722 slugging percentage. His greatest day came on Saturday when he logged six hits including four doubles and a home run to lead the Ravens to a doubleheader sweep of Assumption.

Megan Gardiner (Softball): Megan had quite the heroic day on Saturday as she delivered a pair of walk-off hits to lead the Ravens to a doubleheader sweep of Stonehill. She had an RBI double in game one to cap a five-run seventh inning in a 6-5 win over the Skyhawks while also delivering an RBI single in the seventh in game two of a 10-9 triumph. 

APRIL 28
Matt Walsh (Baseball): Matt earns the top male weekly honor from FPU for the second-straight week as he batted .500 with a .500 on-base percentage and a 1.056 OPS. He had a three-homer game in game two of Sunday's doubleheader sweep of Bentley while also totaling 10 RBI and eight runs scored for the week.

Miranda Gagnon (Women's Outdoor Track & Field): Miranda on Sunday became the first female in FPU Track & Field history to post an NCAA Championship provisional qualifying mark as she recorded a mark of 40.32 meters in the javelin at Sunday's Pride Classic Invitational to finish second in the event. Already the NE-10 conference leader in the event this season Miranda also became the first female to go over 40 meters this year.
