FRANKLIN PIERCE ATHLETICS ALL-TIME TOP 50 (as of Feb. 22, 2013)

The Final 10 and Last Installment of this Historic Five-Part Series (Feb. 22, 2013)

RINDGE, N.H. (February 22, 2013) -- During the 2012-13 school year, Franklin Pierce University will be celebrating the institution's 50th Anniversary (1962-2012). The year-long celebration kicked off during Alumni & Reunion Weekend on the Rindge campus (Sept. 28-30).

As part of this year-long celebration, the Department of Athletics has been releasing a Top-50 List of the most important people in program history. The list has included student-athletes, coaches, administrators and contributors. It has recognized the people who have helped shape athletics into the successful operation it is today.

Athletics has been releasing 10 honorees a month throughout the fall and winter months from October through February. The first 10 on the list were released during Alumni Weekend (Sept. 28), November's 10 honorees were announced on Nov. 19, December's 10 honorees were released on Dec. 21 and January's were held on Jan. 25. To see the first 40 honorees, please refer to the bottom of this story. Today's 10 honorees comprises February and were deemed as the 10 most influential.

A committee was formed last winter to discuss and vote on the list. The committee was comprised of current and former athletic department staff, and non-athlete alumni. The group met several times and were involved in productive debates to put together this special list. They are very proud of their work and think Ravens fans all over the world will enjoy looking back at the names, faces and moments which helped to shape the department.

The final 10 honorees include Justin Blood (baseball), Larry Leach (men's basketball), Pauliina Miettinen (women's soccer), Dr. George Hagerty (former FPU President), Cindy Arman (Head Athletic Trainer), Dr. Arthur Pappas (contributor), Mark Krikorian (women's soccer head coach), Walter Peterson (former FPU President), Johannah Leedham (women's basketball) and Bruce Kirsh (Director of Athletics).
