Bird Named Sport Excellence Recipient; Seven Ravens Earn Spots on NE-10 Academic All-Conference Teams

RINDGE, N.H. (July 11, 2016) – Senior right-hander Tanner Bird (Adams, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been named his sport’s Sport Excellence award winner by the Northeast-10 Conference, as announced earlier this month by the Conference office. In addition, Bird, teammate and senior shortstop Justin Brock (Latham, N.Y.), women’s golf sophomore Anna Haynes (Hopedale, Mass.), men’s lacrosse junior midfielder Nick Bradshaw (Westbury, N.Y.), women’s lacrosse senior midfielder Lauren Beville (Jamesville, N.Y.), men’s track & field junior Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.) and women’s track & field senior Nadine Hyde (Maple Valley, Wash.) have all earned Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors. The selected Ravens were among a record 106 student-athletes across 10 sports honored by the Northeast-10.

(April 17, 2016) -- Sophomore Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) fired a second-round 77 (+5) to secure medalist honors on Sunday, as the Franklin Pierce University women’s golf program wrapped up its 2015-16 season with a first-place finish at the Lady Penmen Spring Classic, hosted by Southern New Hampshire at Stonebridge Country Club.

GOFFSTOWN, N.H. (April 16, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University women’s golf team finished in first place at the end of the first day of the Lady Penmen Spring Classic, hosted by Southern New Hampshire at the Stonebridge Country Club. The Ravens were led by sophomore Taylor Schmidt (West Springfield, Mass.), who shot +4 on Saturday, and is in the lead overall.

EXTON, Pa. (April 11, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University women’s golf team finished in seventh place after the second and final day at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational, hosted by West Chester, with a total of 709 strokes for a +133. Leading the Ravens overall on the weekend was sophomore Camden Morrison (Mills, Mass.), who finished with a 167 (+23) at the par-72 Whitford Country Club.

(March 23, 2016) – Junior third baseman Jay Jabs (Schwenksville, Pa.) of the Franklin Pierce University baseball team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week, as announced on Monday by the Conference office. He led four Ravens who earned weekly honors from their conference, as sophomore Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) of the women’s golf team was named Northeast-10 Women’s Golfer of the Week, freshman Andrew Schadt (Tolland, Conn.) of the men’s tennis team was named Northeast-10 Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week and sophomore Colleen Kelly (Quincy, Mass.) of the bowling team was named East Coast Conference Bowler of the Week. In addition, four other Ravens landed on their sport’s respective Weekly Honor Roll.

(March 15, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University women’s golf team finished third on Tuesday at the Barton Intercollegiate, with a second day score of 360, for a tournament score of 695 (+119). Sophomore Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) finished in first place, with a 156 (+12), after defeating Mount Olive’s Paula Guridi with a 40-foot putt on the first playoff hole at Wilson Country Club.

Sophomore Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) is leading the pack, as she took first place on the day with a score of 75 (+3).

(October 19, 2015) – Sophomore Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) found a new gear in her game on Monday, as she shot a 74 (+3) to jump from second to first and take the individual medal in aiding the Franklin Pierce University Women’s Golf team to a first place finish at the FPU Fall Invitational. The tournament was held at Bretwood Golf Course in Keene, N.H.
