Morrison Leads, Women’s Golf Tied for Second After First Day of Barton Intercollegiate

WILSON, N.C. (March 14, 2016) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's golf team is tied for second place with a score of 335 (+47) after the first day at the Barton Intercollegiate at Wilson Country Club. Sophomore Camden Morrison (Millis, Mass.) is leading the pack, as she took first place on the day with a score of 75 (+3).

Morrison led the Ravens on the day, followed by sophomore Taylor Schmidt (West Springfield, Mass.), who finished the day with a score of 84 (+12) for an 11th place finish.

Freshman Sarah Daley (Beverly, Mass.) finished two strokes behind Schmidt with a tie for 14th place, shooting 86 (+14). Sophomore Anna Haynes (Hopedale, Mass.) finished in 21st place with a score of 90 (+18) and freshman Shannon Slater (Stafford Springs, Conn.) finished with a score of 98 (+26) to tie for 24th place.

It was a tie for second place three strokes behind Morrison, as Paula Guridi, Julie Loennechen and Anne Barboteau, all from Mount Olive, shot 78 (+6) each to tie for second on the day.

The Ravens head back out to the greens tomorrow for the second day of the Barton Intercollegiate at Wilson Country Club.
