Yamamoto Named Player of the Year, Bishop Tabbed Coach of the Year, Five Others Named All-Conference

For the second straight season, the Franklin Pierce University women’s golf team had an athlete named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year, this time it belongs to graduate student Zoey Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) while women’s head coach Tyler Bishop was selected as the women’s coach of the year this week after a collection of votes by the leagues’ head coaches.

Women’s Golf Wraps up Competition at NCAA Championship East Regional

CARMEL, Ind. (May 5, 2021) - The Franklin Pierce University women’s golf team wrapped up its three-day appearance at the NCAA Championship East Regional with final-round play on Wednesday. The Ravens turned in a final-round 343 (+55) to tally a three-day total of 1008 (+144) and an eighth-place finish in the nine-team regional field. The East Regional was hosted by the University of Indianapolis at the par-72 Prairie View Golf Club, which checks in at 6181 yards.

Women’s Golf Improves on Second Day at NCAA Championship East Regional

CARMEL, Ind. (May 4, 2021) - It was a 13-shot improvement on Wednesday for the Franklin Pierce University women’s golf team, at the second day of the NCAA Championship East Regional. Graduate student Zoey Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) was eight shots better from the first to second round, as she paced the Ravens on the second day of the three-day tournament with a 79 (+7). As a team, Franklin Pierce is eighth with one round remaining, with a two-day score of 665 (+89). The East Regional is being hosted by the University of Indianapolis at the par-72 Prairie View Golf Club, which checks in at 6181 yards.

Women’s Golf in Action at First Day of NCAA Championship East Regional

CARMEL, Ind. (May 3, 2021) - The Franklin Pierce University women’s golf team embarked on its second NCAA Championship appearance in program history on Monday, with the first of three rounds at the East Regional. Freshman Kayla Schuberth (Wrentham, Mass.) led the way on the first day for the Ravens, as she carded a nine-over-par 81 to finish the day tied for 27th. As a team, the Ravens sit eighth of nine teams through the first round of play, with a score of 339 (+52). The East Regional is being hosted by the University of Indianapolis at the par-72 Prairie View Golf Club, which checks in at 6181 yards.

Women’s Golf Earns Ninth Seed in NCAA Championship East Regional

INDIANAPOLIS (April 26, 2021) - The Franklin Pierce University women’s golf team already knew it was headed to the NCAA Championship, after winning the Northeast-10 Conference Championship last week and earning the league’s automatic bid to the national tournament. The NCAA made things official on Monday afternoon, when the organization announced the full 36-team field. The Ravens were selected as the ninth seed in the East Region, and will travel to Carmel, Ind. East Regional competition is slated for May 3-5 at Prairie View Golf Club, and University of Indianapolis will serve as the host institution.

EASTON, Mass. (April 22, 2021) -- Graduate student Zoey Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) of the Franklin Pierce University women’s golf team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week, for the week ending on April 18, as announced on Wednesday by the NE10.

For the second straight year and the third time over the past four seasons, the Franklin Pierce University women’s golf team has taken home the Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Golf Championship. Also for the second consecutive year, the Ravens have had the individual medalist as well.

BOYLSTON, Mass. (April 19, 2021) -- The Franklin Pierce University women’s golf team chalked up an eight-shot victory at the four-team Assumption Invitational on Monday. The Ravens put together a team score of 341 (+53) to beat out the host Greyhounds at the par-72 Cyprian Keyes Golf Club.

For the first time in 2021 the Franklin Pierce University, women’s golf team hit the links for a match at the Black Ledge Country Club hosted by the University of Hartford. Graduate student Zoey Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) led the Ravens finishing the round tied for first at even par (72).

BETTER TOGETHER: Franklin Pierce’s Coed Teams Push Each Other to New Heights

Being on a sports team is something athletes cherish throughout their lives. Teams are often more like families, with your brothers by your side as you run to the end zone, and your sisters cheering you on as you put a perfect shot into the net for the winning goal. However, in Raven Nation, this family dynamic extends beyond the male and female sports teams. Several Athletics programs on campus are coed in many of their operations, where the men’s and women’s teams frequently practice and interact together, making the family bigger. While it may be intimidating working with the other gender, many Ravens we talked to enjoy the challenges and the rewards of doing so.
