BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (April 22, 2021) For the second straight year and the third time over the past four seasons, the Franklin Pierce University women's golf team has taken home the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Golf Championship. Also for the second consecutive year, the Ravens have had the individual medalist as well.

The Ravens dominated the competition and the howling wind and bitter cold at the Cold Spring Country Club, a par 71, 5,828-yard course never trailing across the two rounds. Pierce shot a 355 (+71) over the first round and a 341 (+57) second-round totaling a 696 (+128) two-round total. They bested runner-up Stonehill College by 17 strokes en route to their third automatic bid to the NCAA Division II East Super Regional held in Indianapolis.

Under the guidance of head coach Tyler Bishop, who kick-started the program in 2014-15, the crimson and grey have never finished below second at the league tournament. They have three league championship trophies and four runner-up finishes in that span.

"I'm so proud of our team," said Bishop. "They showed so much physical toughness today. All their hard work and dedication paid off today."

Reigning NE10 Golfer of the Week, graduate student Zoey Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) finished her strong spring never finishing lower than third place individually as she was the conference champion medalist at 167 (+25). Yamamoto knocked off seven strokes from her first-round score and led the field in total birdies with three. It was her third conference championship and second time earning All-Championship team honors.

Joining Yamamoto on the All-Championship team were freshman Kayla Schuberth (Wrentham, Mass.) and sophomore Alia Godek (Feeding Hills, Mass.). Schuberth placed third producing a 171 (+29) scorecard from the three spot in the five golfer rotation. She was second behind Godek in pars with 13, Godek had 16. Godek was by far and away the most improved athlete for the Ravens knocking off a whopping 14 strokes from her first-round total.

Graduate student Taylor Hartley (Las Vegas, Nev.), a three-time NE10 Champion as well put home a 182 (+40) for a share of 14th place while sophomore Micaela Leandro (Harlingen, Texas) tallied a 24th place finish and a 192 (+50).
