Men’s Soccer’s Felber, Felis Named to CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. (July 19, 2021) -- For the second time in as many years, and the fourth time in program history, the Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team has had multiple student-athletes earn Academic All-America accolades from College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). For the first time, it has had multiple players selected to the Academic All-America First Team in the same year. Graduate students Yannik Felber (Vallendar, Germany) and Carlos Ferrando Felis (Tavernes de la Valldigna, Spain) both earned the accolade, as announced earlier this month by CoSIDA.

No. 2 nationally-ranked Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer players Yannik Felber (Vallendar, Germany) and Carlos Ferrando Felis (Tavernes de la Valldigna, Spain) have been chosen to the 2021 Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Team selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) it was announced Thursday afternoon.

#2 Ravens Stymie DI Friars 2-1

The no. 2 nationally-ranked Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team held NCAA Division I program Providence College to no shots during the opening 64 minutes as the Ravens defeated the Friars 2-1 Friday evening on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. The win keeps FPU unblemished at 3-0-0 while PC dropped to 4-4-1.

#2 Men’s Soccer Offense, Defense Shutout AIC 4-0

The no. 2 nationally-ranked Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer program returned to the pitch and dominated Northeast-10 Conference opponent American International College 4-0 on Thursday evening on Ronald J. Abdow Field. The Crimson and Grey move to 2-0-0 in matches this year while the Yellow Jackets fall to 0-3-0.

Making their return to the pitch for the first time in 450+ days, the recently minted no.4 nationally-ranked Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer program took to the field to officially open their 2021 spring season against American International College. The Ravens dominated from the first possession and did not look back upending the guests 4-1 on a cold and windy Friday evening at Sodexo Field.

Men’s Soccer Ranks Fourth in Nation Following Week 1 Poll

The Franklin Pierce University men’s soccer team received their highest national ranking since the 2011 season when they were ranked second as the Crimson and Gray came in at fourth in the first edition of the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II National Rankings it was announced Tuesday by the organization.

Aidan Abolfazli '17, an alum of the Franklin Pierce University men's soccer team, was named as the head men's soccer coach at Worcester State University late last month.
